SIS: TAKE THE MASK OFF:

Heyy sisters! How are you? What have you been up too?

Have you been cringing because it’s almost the end of the year? Gurllll, let’s just group hug because lawwwd these past couple weeks have been rough for your sister….. 

Yaaa sister just had to unplug! I am currently unplugging from my daily schedule and I am in the mountains in a cozy cabin in Chattanooga Tennessee! I am attending a Creative’s Retreat. I have never considered myself a creative so this is something new for me. 

The retreat has already been great! It feels so great to be around so many creative people. The purpose of the retreat was to come around creative minds, share ideas, and get WERKKKK DONE! So… I have been reading, praying, resting, EATING, and talking to God. I believe that sometimes we have to get away from the daily noise so we can hear from God... 

So with that being said I am taking full advantage of this relaxation time. Gurllll, let me just tell you how excited I was to take a break...Can you guess one of the first things I did? How many of my sisters like face masks? Just raise your hand! YOU KNOW THE FACE MASK IS LIT when it's the VEGAN CHARCOAL FACE MASK! LIKE WHAT! IT’S A WHOLE VIBE!

I literally almost put the whole jar of the face mask on my face! I just wanted to cover up all of the little bumps I was trying to get off my face. I figured if I applied more the bumps would go away quicker. I was starting to get annoyed because it seemed like the more I put on the quicker the mask was dissolving off of my face. I wanted the face mask to last for at least 30mins but the dag on thing wouldn't even last for 3 minutes…. 

In that moment I realized that the mask was starting to peel because it wasn’t meant to stay on  forever. How many times do we try to cover up our insecurities, our scars, our sins, our lies, our gossip, our excuses, or our procrastination? Sis, we can’t hide under the face mask for too long because it eventually starts to come off. 

Sister it is time that we stop hiding who we truly are! You weren’t meant to be like another person that God created… So take the mask off! The way you act in public is not the same way you act in private… So please take the mask off! Sis… sometimes you are doing work to be recognized by people instead of doing work for the LORD. So please take the mask off. Sis… you naturally call everybody else fake but you are the main one talking behind others backs. It’s time to take the mask off. You are currently in school majoring in something that you don’t even desire to do. Take the mask off and do what GOD HAS CALLED YOU TO DO. You are staying in an unhealthy relationship not because you want to be with the person only because you don’t want to be alone. Take the mask off. Gurlll… you say yes to opportunities that you really want to say NO to… Just go ahead and take the mask off.

As you can see my sister my mask is literally peeling off and I am glad it is peeling off because it wasn’t meant to stay there forever. I have gotten comfortable with a mask because it hides all my wounds, but I can never grow if I don’t give my wounds a chance to heal.

Sis… let’s take our masks off together YEP LET’S WASH EVERYTHING OFF… .HERE WE GO… 1....2....3… MASKS OFF! 

WOW! Sissss... You are so beautiful when you are totally YOU! 

Even though taking our masks off aren’t easy it’s so worth being ourselves rather than trying to be someone else.

I love you with your mask off! Let’s work on being our true selves together! 

MASK OFF RECOMMENDATIONS:

Mask off Exercise: Call it out…This exercise will be beneficial if you are in a quiet place

Sister’s, sometimes we can be so quick to call out other people’s flaws but we can never call out our own because we are hiding behind a mask. 

Before you start this exercise I want you to pray that God reveals to you the things you are hiding about yourself that need to be uncovered. After your prayer I want you to write down everything that you are currently hiding, covering, or keeping a secret. After you write down everything you are covering up I want you to put an action plan beside it. Your action plan will state how you will no longer hide under a mask. Pray over these things each and every day.

Mask off Prayer: 

Dear Jesus, I pray that you allow my sisters and I to understand that you have made us beautiful and unique in your image. You did not create us to be like someone else, in fact you created us to be ourselves. Please allow us to love ourselves more. God please show us what you see in us. God everything you make is GOOD so that means that we ARE GOOD! God, I pray that you remove all masks from our face. Allow us to work on the things we need to work on instead of covering them up. God, we know that when we allow things to be uncovered you can heal it and make it WHOLE. God, we are taking the masks off and we are trusting you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
