Instagram ----> COMPARISON

Hey Sisssss! Hey Family! Hey Friends!

Sooooo I just wanted to come on the blog and have a very transparent moment with you all. The other night before I was going to sleep on vacation in the Bahamas I literally started crying IN BED. I was crying because I felt the sense of comparison coming over me. I had scrolled through social media, Instagram to be specific and I saw all of these successful posts. I saw people starting new businesses, creating new content, becoming full-time entrepreneurs, writing books, getting new jobs, and so many other things.

I was thinking to myself, LORD… Why can’t I just get myself together? Why can’t I start my goals and dreams like other people? I was literally asking myself a million questions while tears were rolling down my eyes. Thankfully, God just allowed me to rest after tears had filled up my pillow.

I woke up the next day thinking I HAVE SO MANY THINGS TO BE THANKFUL FOR! I had to remind myself that my journey WILL NOT LOOK LIKE OTHER’S JOURNEYS. I also had to remember that everything that people post on social media IS NOT REAL. People can make things look beautiful on the outside but things can be really ugly on the inside. Always remember that the speed of someone’s else’s life won’t be the same speed of your life & one thing I am truly learning is NOT putting God on a time limit. Believe it, or not, God’s timing is better than our timing. We have to remind ourselves that God’s EYES are better than our EYES. He can see things before we can see them. Instead of being upset that God shut a door in your life, be thankful that God SHUT the DOOR BECAUSE HE TRULY SAW WHAT WAS BEHIND THAT DOOR. Sometimes God has to block some things to protect us.

Sisss, I don’t know what you are going through but I want to encourage you to TRUST THE SEASON YOU ARE IN RIGHT NOW. Seasons don’t last forever and remember that God is with you through every season. Don’t forget to call on God when you feel like you are in doubt, when you feel like you are comparing yourself to others, when you feel like you don’t have the strength to complete your goals. Oh yeah, sis don’t forget to submit your goals and dreams to God. Ask God to align HIS vision with your vision. Sis, be vulnerable with God ask Him to remove any comparison, envy, or jealously out of YOUR HEART! Lastly, trust God with your vision! Even though it seems like nothing is working out. Even when you don’t see the results you want to see keep pushing! Keep working hard towards the things you want to accomplish. God is going to allow everything to unfold at the right time. BUT GUESS WHAT? YOU HAVE TO TRUST THE PROCESS FIRST! TRUST GOD EVEN WHEN YOU DON’T SEE RESULTS. TRUST GOD WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE AN AUDIENCE TO APPLAUD YOU FOR YOUR WORK. TRUST GOD WHEN YOU FEEL WEAK BECAUSE HE WILL MAKE YOU STRONG!

Recommended Reset Exercise:Pick two days out of the week you will detach from social media. Remember we are moving away from comparing our lives to others’ lives. Social Media can be a bad addiction sometimes. Take the time that you would spend on social media and invest in your vision, pray, have some quiet time with yourself.
